Platinum silicone that exhibits good chemical, abrasion and heat resistance. Cures at room temperature with negligible shrinkage. Materials such as plasters, concrete, wax, low-melt metal alloys or resins (urethane, epoxy or polyester) can then be cast into these silicone rubbers without a release agent. (Although not usually necessary, a release agent - Ease Release 200 - will make demolding easier when pouring into or over most surfaces). Offers tremendous versatility and suitable for making production molds of any configuration, large or small. Used for rapid prototyping, wax casting (foundries and candle makers), architectural restoration and for casting concrete.
Smooth-Sil 936 is a lower viscosity platinum silicone rubber. It is easier to mix, vacuum degas using a Vacuum Chamber & Pump, and pour. Can be thicken with Thi-Vex for a brush-on application. Use Silicone Thinner to lower the viscosity.
